Odessa, a vibrant community of 1,000 residents, is located within the geographically unique area known as the Channeled Scablands of Eastern Washington. Odessa offers visitors a safe, warm, and friendly atmosphere in close proximity to outdoor recreational areas.
Deutchesfest
Third weekend in SeptemberAttracting an average of 15,000 people, Deutchesfest is held Thursday through Sunday on the third weekend in September. This is the community’s main event celebrating its German heritage. Activities range from a great selection of live bands, a bed race, Beirgarten, Youth Garten, German foods, Arts and Craft Show, Flea Market, Parade, Fun run, 3 on 3 basketball, poker run, and more.
The Odessa Golf Club and RV Park offers a challenging 9 hole course and Reiman Park offers an Aquatic Recreation Center for all ages. The Municipal Airport has a well-maintained 3000 foot runway that welcomes visitors from near and far.
The Odessa Historisches Museum takes you back over 100 years into the past, while local genealogists will help trace your heritage at the Big Bend American Historical Society of Germans from Russia located in an historic church.
West of town are Coffee Pot Lake and Twin Lakes, examples of “channeled scabland pot holes,” which offer fishing & recreational opportunities.
